Upcycled plastic water bottles, glass beads and sterling silver. Earring measures 1”x1.25” (25mmx35mm). All proceeds are donated to the Ajo Samaritans.
These earrings are made from plastic water bottles left in the desert by migrants on their dangerous journey across the Sonoran desert. The red glass bead in the center refer to the “Red Dot Map” which depicts a trail of migrant deaths through the Growler Valley west of Ajo.
Made by Tina Finneran in her Ajo studio. Each earring is hand cut from upcycled, found water bottles, and attached by a sterling silver rivet, hanging on sterling silver wires. Due to their handmade nature, like human beings, each earring is unique.
When you purchase these earrings, the proceeds are donated to the Ajo Samaritans to help them continue their work to alleviate suffering and save the lives of travelers in the desert, irrespective of their immigration status.
